You can then flatten it further with a silicone turner or whatever you have handy (I used my metal water bottle.) The plastic will twist and turn all different ways but once you’ve properly melted it all, it should lay mostly flat. I wanted to show this to you using an affordable but high quality paint marker, so I used Ohuhu’s dual tipped acrylic markers for this. Make sure the correct printer is selected, the correct number of copies you wish to print are entered, and the “Add Bleed” setting is turned off. Make sure the correct Material Size is selected for each mat. Select all the layers of the photo and offset and click “Flatten.” Resize the image to approximately 5” in height to get a nice size keychain with most shrink materials. The photo is now on the canvas, but it is likely far too big depending on the way the image was saved.

Shrinky Dink Necklaces

For these Christmas ornaments, I don’t recommend printing more than four images per page. (Be sure the read the baking instructions that come with your paper. The process and times may differ depending on the type of shrink paper you are using. The Shrinky Dinks will curl up as they shrink, then they’ll flatten back out. DO NOT use shrink paper in a laser printer, as they use heat while printing. When choosing designs for your Shrinky Dinks Christmas ornaments, avoid images that have lots of dark colors. When using the inkjet paper, you may want to lighten the design 50 percent before printing and use the “transparency” mode if your printer has one.

So there’s a lot of different things that you can tie to add into that interdisciplinary practice. But close enough to the edge where you can still add the attachments.
